engineering for site development, pedestrian and other transportation
needs.

Affectively delineating pedestrian lanes along heavily
traveled roadways and improving drainage along hillside slopes
offers unique challenges and opportunities for aesthetically
pleasing and safety enhancing solutions.
This
Vermont high school had a long history of a strong track program,
but the track facilities had not kept up with the program.
A new state-of-the art track surface and drainage improvements
were designed and constructed to provide the facilities necessary
for this storied program to excel for years to come.
School
districts are increasingly challenged to meet the growing needs
of both pedestrian and vehicular traffic along with bus drop-off
to safely get students to and from school each day. This innovative
drop-off and traffic circulation pattern accomplishes each
of these objectives by separating pedestrian and bus traffic
from vehicular traffic (both students and faculty).
To
better define and reinforce the quaint character of the village
core of this traditional Vermont community, sidewalks, landscaping,
stormwater and lighting improvements were designed and constructed
to enhance and encourage pedestrian traffic, both day and night.
This project was recently honored with the Green Mountain Award
by the Vermont Downtown Conference for "Best Public Space
Improvements"
"The community feedback we have received
from our streetscape improvements couldn't be more positive.
Pedestrian traffic in our downtown has increased tremendously.
We've noticed a lot of elderly and family traffic at night
after dinner that we never saw before the improvements were
completed. Every goal that we wanted to accomplish with this
project have been met and more!" - Jonas Rosenthal,
Poultney Village Manager
