Professional Career
Bradley F. Aldrich, P.E., F.NSPE is a founding partner and Vice-President in the consulting engineering firm Forcier Aldrich & Associates, Inc. (FA&A), of Essex Junction, VT. Specializing in water, wastewater and stormwater engineering for municipal clients, FA&A has grown to twenty–four employees and is recognized as a premier water resource engineering firm in Vermont.
Professional Licensure
Mr. Aldrich is currently licensed as a Professional Engineer in VT, NH, ME, and MA.
Education
Mr. Aldrich graduated from the University of Vermont, with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (cum laude), in 1981.
Vermont Society of Professional Engineers (VSPE)
Mr. Aldrich has been an active member of the Vermont Society of Professional Engineers, serving as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice-President, President-Elect, President and National Director.
Vermont Engineers Council
Mr. Aldrich was a founding member of the Vermont Engineers Council, a coalition of Vermont’s engineering societies, created to be the voice and advocate for PEs in Vermont. As the chair of the Council for it’s first three years, Mr. Aldrich helped shape and grow the organization into the recognized authority on engineering issues in Vermont.
Community Service
Mr. Aldrich is a Director and Officer of GBIC (the regional development corporation for Chittenden County, VT) and serves as Chair of Cynosure, the sister company of GBIC. Mr. Aldrich has been active in government relations for both GBIC and the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce.
In 2003, Governor Jim Douglas appointed Mr. Aldrich to the board of the Vermont Hydro-Electric Power Authority (VHPA) where he was elected chair. Representing the State of Vermont, the VHPA pursued the acquisition of a series of hydro-electric dams along the Connecticut River being auctioned as part of a bankruptcy proceeding.
Locally, Mr. Aldrich has served on the Montpelier Planning Commission and the Montpelier Board of School Commissioners.
Mr. Aldrich was installed as Vice-President of the National Society of Professional Engineers at their annual meeting on July 28, 2007. As Vice-President, Mr. Aldrich serves on the executive leadership team and the Board of Directors for NSPE. Mr. Aldrich will advance to the position of NSPE President in 2009-2010. As an officer of NSPE, Mr. Aldrich will serve as a leader and spokesman for the advancement of professional engineering, both at home and abroad.
The National Society of Professional Engineers is the recognized voice and advocate of all licensed professional engineers. As the only professional association for professional engineers of all disciplines, NSPE has three primary objectives; to provide programs and services to enhance the ability and competence of our members to provide professional engineering services, to protect the professional license and educate the public on the important contributions of professional engineers, and to reach out to our secondary and post-secondary educational institutions to promote engineering and licensure to the next generation of professional engineers. Mr. Aldrich will continue to be a leader in the development and implementation of NSPE’s programs and activities to achieve these objectives.
Mr. Aldrich has served on the Board of Directors and different national committees and task forces prior to his election as vice-president. In 2004, Mr. Aldrich was honored as an NSPE fellow, in recognition of his professional accomplishments and contributions to NSPE.
