PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • System designed to avoid adverse impact to existing wetlands upland of the project area.
  • Designed temporary sediment traps for construction to allow contractor to use drainage system for dewatering during construction.
  • Existing drainage channel to Halfmoon Cove restored to improve treatment, reduce flow velocity and dissipate flow to reduce adverse impacts to wetland areas.
  • Bids came in at 80% of the project estimate allowing add alternatives to be included within the budget.
  • Demonstrates the ability of the engineering profession to "think outside the box" to solve problems.
  • Sets new standards for consideration of project funding through the state SRF program.
