BELWOOD SUBSURFACE DRAINAGE SYSTEM
- System designed to avoid adverse impact to existing wetlands upland of the project
area.
- Designed temporary sediment traps for construction to allow contractor to use drainage
system for dewatering during construction.
- Existing drainage channel to Halfmoon Cove restored to improve treatment, reduce
flow velocity and dissipate flow to reduce adverse impacts to wetland areas.
- Bids came in at 80% of the project estimate allowing add alternatives to be included
within the budget.
- Demonstrates the ability of the engineering profession to "think outside the box"
to solve problems.
- Sets new standards for consideration of project funding through the state SRF program.
